Employment, Educational and Professional Background

·         Fully Qualified Accountant – Membership of a professional body such as CIMA/ACA/ACCA

·         5 years experience working in a Finance Department/Accountancy Practice

·        Extensive experience of balance sheet accounting

·        Good knowledge of Corporation tax

Finance Manager Role Overview

This is a key role within the Finance Department reporting to the Finance Director. Manage the Financial and Transactional accounting across the Finance Department and provide day to day support to the Finance Director. Full responsibility for monthly balance sheet reconciliations, corporation tax and cash control.

No direct line management initially but scope to grow and develop the role. Be a role model for Nuvia’s behaviours, supporting our organisational culture and ways of working. Be a visible specialist in Finance to provide advice and guidance, including mentoring to the part qualified and trainee accountants within the team.
Key accountabilities
Month End & Controls
-          Preparation of timely and accurate full balance sheet reconciliations and controls to be maintained including documentation
-          Quarter end fastclose balance sheet forecasting, including detailed reporting within group package
-          Monthly corporate cost centre P&L accounting
-          KPI reporting and finance board slide packs

-          Produce draft Statutory Accounts for review by FD
-          External and Internal Audits – manage and liaise with Auditors on topics under remit
-          Ensure compliance with latest accounting standards
-          HMRC compliance and monthly ONS returns

-          Responsibility for authorising of bank payments including payroll (input by HR)
-          Daily cashflow monitoring including review and update with sales invoices each week
-          13 week rolling Cashflow forecasting including detailed reporting of variances every week
-          Full year detailed weekly cashflow forecasting at each budget and reforecast exercise incl. group pack
-          Cashflow reporting to group to adhere to deadlines
-          Setting up bonds and guarantees

-          To have strong tax knowledge within Corporation Tax – liaising with tax advisors to prepare annual CT submission
-          Ad hoc overseas tax submissions where required
-          Monthly corporation tax schedules - detailed review, analysis and monitoring
-          Reforecast tax calculations and group submission
-          Some R&D Expenditure Credits tax knowledge would be useful to support FM (Projects)
-          Support and cover to FM (Systems) on VAT returns and tax queries

Group Reporting
-          Create and maintain excellent relationships within the wider Nuvia Group, providing flash cash reports and reporting monthly, quarterly fastclose, and yearly fastclose in group systems to strict deadlines
-          IFRS16 maintenance, reporting and reconcilations
-          Off Balance Sheet Commitments
